ixi, 2020; jxj ,2021; uxv, 2022
ixi, jxj, & uxv are a series of three kinetic sculptures exploring virtual space. Each sculpture is built on two distinct hyper-spaces that gradually morph over 12 hours, modeling potential universes based on research into the theory of everything — the search for a unified explanation of the cosmos. Visitors engage with the shifting, transparent ambiance of each sculpture by moving through its form and surrounding virtual space. The pieces invite an immersive engagement with the incremental transformation of virtual realms. The first version of ixi, commissioned by the CTM Festival in 2020, was a 3D online experience. For SXSW 2021, a VRChat version was created. In 2022, BITKOM e.V. commissioned a video artwork representation of ixi.
