2018-2020 / Future Classical System Study I — Deterministic Structures

This example shows integration of computer generated soundscape AI vocal and natural vocal. In a final mix the vocals should merge even more. This project already imagines future computation systems but parts of it are based on a grid structure. More sound research is currently done on purely grid-like structures.

„bayes“ was likely the first officially released music using a new “AI” algorithm developed by Google and IRCAM. I was directly speaking with the developers. The work complex explores life in our future, virtual and artificial intelligence driven world through methods of pop culture. The name „bayes“ stems from „Bayes‘ Theorem“, published first in 1763. Bayes‘ Theorem helps to better determine the probability of an event and is today again used widely in the field of machine learning & AI.

Quantum System Study II — Superposition Sound Structures

This sound work presents initial experiments in rendering aspects of quantum mechanical processes and the logic of quantum computation perceptible through sound synthesis and rhythmic structures. The resulting sonic materials and virtual instruments will form the basis of a final composition. AI-generated vocal material will be integrated into selected sections of the work.

It decomposes incoming sounds into 16 independently controllable frequency bands, allowing multiple spectral states to be manipulated simultaneously. This example presents the 16 frequency bands layered across three different fundamental frequencies. The same source sound is presented in progressively increasing complexity. This excerpt is a demonstration not a finished composition.

Bio System Study III — Self-Organizing Sound Structures

Ambiances created from field recordings and generative sound synthesis. Within these environments, “creatures” are generated through AI-assisted sound synthesis techniques.
11:25 River and 20:35 Underwater include moments of AI- and human voice performance, to be recorded and integrated in a later production phase.
The ambiances function as exploratory environments in which synthetic lifeforms and sonic entities emerge. They are conceived as preliminary studies toward a concept of “biocomputing”-informed sound generation, in which environmental sound structures and generative systems interact to produce emergent sonic ecologies.
